INSECT ODYSSEY, Salibury Museum, 25 June to 25 September.

Curated by Dr ELISABETH DARBY and PRUDENCE MALTBY, with Dr MICHAEL DARBY, Entomologist.

This exhibition offers an insight into the insect world through the visual responses and interpretations of 27 contemporary artists to the entomological publications which, since the 17th Century, have recorded these intriguing creatures. About the exhibition.

Bridget Bailey makes artworks and sculptures that describe aspects of nature, from the growth-rhythm in a tangle of grass to the particular posture of a dead butterfly’s legs. The materials and techniques come from her textile and millinery background, taking on a new level of refinement in their context as artworks. Her recent work has been exhibited at Jaggedart, Byard Art and Made London Marylebone.
